Los humanos ¿tenemos futuro? o El capitalismo se devora a sí mismo y no le importa.

 

Llevamos dos años difíciles, dolorosos y angustiantes. El 2021 también quedará grabado en la memoria colectiva del mundo entero. Sin saber cómo, tuvimos que enfrentar esta experiencia inesperada y compleja: vivir, envejecer en pandemia. Los sistemas sanitarios y económicos siguieron evidenciaron sus falencias y desigualdades.

El virus continuó anulando los abrazos y los encuentros, pero permitió entre otras cosas, problematizar la discriminación naturalizada, poco interrogada, y habitual cometida contra las personas más vulnerables. Falta mucho por hacer al respecto, por eso, en este nuevo año, tenemos que reforzar el compromiso de la lucha contra la desigualdad en cada uno de nuestros países.

Con más preguntas que respuestas, aprendimos mucho más de lo que hoy podemos analizar e identificar desde la conciencia. El tiempo hará lo propio para permitir que emerjan las explicaciones y las develaciones.

Comenzar de cero no es fácil, pero para muchos será así y es como un salto al vacío. Solo pensar que la mayoría de nosotros somos descendientes de inmigrantes que tuvieron que dar ese salto en peores condiciones que las actuales. O bien aquellos que por diversos motivos tuvieron que emigrar de sus países por motivos políticos o religiosos dejando todo y comenzando en otros sitios totalmente desconocidos y desposeídos de todos sus bienes y afectos. Si de algo sirve el pasado es para enseñarnos, para ofrecernos sabiduría, acierto y madurez.

En este contexto, la virtualidad se fue constituyendo como un espacio para pensar, generar debates y reflexiones. Durante todos estos largos meses nos hemos encontrado entre pantallas y nos hemos conectado desde el deseo potente de visibilizar la relevancia de abordar los temas relacionados a una infinidad de falencias que antes no cuestionábamos.

Lo nuevo no es malo, nos asusta, pero nos ofrece la oportunidad de alcanzar aquello que buscamos o deseamos. Es natural sentir cierta inseguridad e incluso miedo, ¿por qué no? Lo desconocido asusta, pero el cambio es un proceso inherente a la vida y aprender a enfrentarlo no es sólo sinónimo de madurez, sino que se convierte en una nueva oportunidad.

Según expresaba Darwin -"No es el más fuerte de las especies el que sobrevive, tampoco es el más inteligente el que sobrevive. Es aquel que es más adaptable al cambio". -"No hay ninguna diferencia fundamental entre el hombre y los animales en su capacidad de sentir placer y dolor, felicidad y miseria".

Los humanos suponemos que tenemos futuro, no renunciamos a esa creencia, de lo contrario vivir sería aún más difícil. Generalmente nos preocupa más el pasado, ya que sin memoria no somos nada. Eso sí, las interpretaciones de ese pasado son muy diferentes. La ciencia explica, después de múltiples investigaciones, ahí están los fósiles y el arte en discretas cavernas, entre otros testimonios. Hace millones de años bajamos de los árboles cuando la selva dejó de ser acogedora, y con empeño transformados garras en manos, y las garras de los pies se fueron haciendo planas, y este proceso facilitó que pudiéramos cazar, nos convertimos en peligrosos depredadores: nuestras primeras víctimas no desconfiaban, pero esta ingenuidad duró poco y cazar se hizo más difícil, pero formamos cooperativas como los perros africanos: descubrimos que juntos asegurábamos la comida y la especie se perpetuaba.

Resulta paradójico que tanto esfuerzo lo tiremos por la ventana, en el supuesto caso que siga habiendo ventanas. Desde hace unas décadas se sabe que los humanos estamos provocando un nefasto cambio climático. Si se sigue consumiendo como se hace actualmente necesitaríamos tres planetas y esto no se resuelve colonizando Marte. Hay científicos que nos recuerdan que vivimos en una agradable etapa interglaciar y puede que los hielos vuelvan a apoderarse de la Tierra: 100.000, 50.000, 5.000 años, no se sabe cuándo este fenómeno se repetirá. Estas predicciones no nos dicen que no pensemos qué cenaremos esta noche u olvidemos cambiar los pañales al bebé que no es responsable de lo que está sucediendo y se incorporará a la sociedad, siendo un inocente cómplice de un proceso destructivo si los adultos no asumimos semejante desafío para en alguna medida modificarlo. Ya se verá, mientras tanto destruimos las selvas de la Amazonia dado que sus maderas se cotizan muy bien en el mercado.

El actual capitalismo se devora a sí mismo y no le importa. No reflexiona sobre su pasado, tan despiadado como eficiente. Hace un siglo vivíamos cuarenta años, hoy ochenta, en las regiones desarrolladas. Este capitalismo es indiferente ante lo que pueda pasar en un futuro próximo, destruye las riquezas del planeta acumulando dinero y poder. Aprovechando su poder esconde en los paraísos fiscales enormes riquezas que no podrá utilizar. Usureros desalmados que disfrutan sólo acumulando y nunca están satisfechos. Necesitamos un Freud para que explicara el motivo de este deseo que no logran satisfacer de ninguna manera. Esta es una vieja historia: los faraones, los emperadores chinos, Roma, tuvieron un comportamiento parecido y todos desaparecieron.

Finalmente: ¿estamos a tiempo para evitar la catástrofe? Es posible, pero solo es posible.

We have had two difficult, painful and distressing years. 2021 will also be recorded in the collective memory of the entire world. Without knowing how, we had to face this unexpected and complex experience: living, growing old in a pandemic. The health and economic systems continued to show their shortcomings and inequalities.

The virus continued to cancel hugs and encounters, but allowed, among other things, to problematize the naturalized, little questioned, and habitual discrimination committed against the most vulnerable people. Much remains to be done in this regard, which is why, in this new year, we must reinforce our commitment to the fight against inequality in each of our countries.

With more questions than answers, we learned much more than what we can now analyze and identify from consciousness. Time will do the same to allow explanations and disclosures to emerge.

Starting from scratch is not easy, but for many it will be like that and it is like a leap into the void. Just to think that most of us are descendants of immigrants who had to make that leap in worse conditions than today. Or those who for various reasons had to emigrate from their countries for political or religious reasons, leaving everything and starting in other places totally unknown and dispossessed of all their goods and affections. If the past is of any use, it is to teach us, to offer us wisdom, wisdom, and maturity.

In this context, virtuality gradually became a space to think, generate debates and reflections. During all these long months we have met between screens and we have connected from the powerful desire to make visible the relevance of addressing issues related to an infinity of shortcomings that we did not question before.

The new is not bad, it scares us, but it offers us the opportunity to achieve what we seek or desire. It is natural to feel some insecurity and even fear, why not? The unknown is scary, but change is an inherent process in life and learning to face it is not only synonymous with maturity, but also becomes a new opportunity.

As Darwin expressed- "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor is it the most intelligent that survives. He is the one that is most adaptable to change." - "There is no fundamental difference between man and animals in their ability to feel pleasure and pain, happiness and misery."

We humans assume that we have a future, we do not renounce that belief, otherwise living would be even more difficult. Generally, we are more concerned with the past, since without memory we are nothing. Of course, the interpretations of that past are very different. Science explains, after multiple investigations, there are the fossils and art in discrete caves, among other testimonies. Millions of years ago we came down from the trees when the jungle stopped being welcoming, and with determination transformed claws into hands, and the claws on our feet became flat, and this process made it easier for us to hunt, we became dangerous predators: our The first victims were not suspicious, but this naivety did not last long and hunting became more difficult, but we formed cooperatives like African dogs: we discovered that together we secured food and the species perpetuated itself.

It is paradoxical that we throw so much effort out the window, in the event that there are still windows. For a few decades it has been known that humans are causing disastrous climate change. If it continues to be consumed as it is currently done, we would need three planets and this is not solved by colonizing Mars. There are scientists who remind us that we live in a pleasant interglacial stage and that the ice may once again take over the Earth: 100,000, 50,000, 5,000 years, it is not known when this phenomenon will repeat itself. These predictions do not tell us not to think about what we will have for dinner tonight or forget to change the diapers of the baby who is not responsible for what is happening and will join society, being an innocent accomplice of a destructive process if we adults do not assume such a challenge. to modify it to some extent. It will be seen, meanwhile we destroy the forests of the Amazon since their woods are priced very well in the market.

The current capitalism devours itself and does not care. He does not reflect on his past, as ruthless as he is efficient. A century ago we lived forty years, today eighty, in developed regions. This capitalism is indifferent to what may happen in the near future, it destroys the wealth of the planet by accumulating money and power. Taking advantage of its power, it hides enormous wealth in tax havens that it will not be able to use. Heartless loan sharks who enjoy only hoarding and are never satisfied. We need a Freud to explain the reason for this desire that they cannot satisfy in any way. This is an old story: the pharaohs, the Chinese emperors, Rome, had a similar behavior and they all disappeared.

Finally: are we in time to avoid catastrophe? It is possible, but it is only possible.
