SER AUTORREFERENCIAL ES ALGO QUE NO PODEMOS EVITAR.

 

Tengo presente que todos podemos caer en lo autorreferencial y cuando decidí escribir en esta publicación, invitación que me formularon muchísimas veces, hice un ejercicio de autoconocimiento personal, nunca estamos a salvo de caer en ese tipo de posturas autorreferenciadas, más aún cuando la profesión de uno no es justamente la de escritor ni pretende serlo.

Resulta muy común que aprendamos de la experiencia, concretamente de los errores; más esto no es más que una adicción a la autorreferencia, a nuestros propios esquemas. Ese bendito caer dos veces con la misma piedra, muestra una faceta de nuestra manera de almacenar información relacionada con la conformación de nuestro autoconcepto.

"Confucio decía que, si uno se topa con gente buena, debe tratar de imitarla, y si uno se topa con gente mala, debe examinarse a sí mismo".

Desde los inicios de la historia, el hombre ha querido reproducir imágenes a través de dibujos, pinturas, grabados y, conforme avanzan las tecnologías, fotografía, cine y todo lo que llamamos comunicación audiovisual. Se puede decir que este hecho responde a una necesidad innata del hombre de dejar huella y de guardar recuerdos, pero lo que hoy vemos como algo normal, ya que vivimos en una sociedad de imágenes, antiguamente era un acontecimiento excepcional.

Mas de uno se preguntará a donde me llevan todas estas reflexiones. Muy sencillo, es que a pesar de la evolución del pensamiento y la ayuda que nos brinda la tecnología, hay actitudes que llevan al presente hasta lo absurdo o bien lo inexplicable.

Una parte del monologo final en la película “Solos en la madrugada” decía:” Hay que empezar a ser libres. Yo también quiero ser libre. No quiero tener que mentirme tanto. Sé que tengo que hacer algo… a lo mejor escuchar, escuchar más a la gente o hacer un programa de radio para adultos, para hablar de las cosas de hoy, porque… porque no podemos pasar otros cuarenta años hablando de los cuarenta años…Ese viejo disco que vais a escuchar es el último de una melodía que no oiremos más. Yo os prometo que Ray Peterson, Raimundo Pérez si hubiese nacido en el imperio, no volverá a decirle a Laura que la quiere, porque es que Laura tiene treinta y cinco castañas, cinco hijos y está casada con uno de Arkansas y eso hay que afrontarlo. No soy político, ni sociólogo, pero creo que lo que deberíamos hacer es darnos la libertad los unos a los otros, aunque sea una libertad condicional. Pues vamos, yo creo que sí podemos hacerlo, creo que sí. No debe preocuparnos si cuesta al principio, porque lo importante es que al final habremos recuperado la convivencia, el amor, la ilusión. Pues no cabe duda: al vegetar estamos acabando. Vamos a vivir por algo nuevo. Vamos, vamos a cambiar la vida por nosotros. Si bien se produjeron muchos cambios tecnológicos, los mismos problemas que se planteaban en la exhibición y distribución y los discutía mi padre hace más de sesenta años, siguen existiendo en la actualidad, tales como la falta de pantallas para el cine nacional, el deficiente apoyo para exhibir material no comercial, la falta de una promoción adecuada para la comercialización en el exterior y que no quede la película sola suscripta a la participación en un festival. Una cantidad de motivos que hacen lo encuentre inexplicable. Y lo absurdo es que ante los mismos planteos se reciben las mismas respuestas.

Ahora bien, es el sistema o sencillamente somos nosotros, los adultos, que no pretendemos dar solución porque nos sentimos muy cómodos en el lugar que ocupamos.

El arte, como parte de la cultura es uno de los instrumentos con los que las sociedades cuentan para diseñar el futuro. Ya sea como creadores o como espectadores de actividades artísticas, el arte aporta muchas cosas buenas a la formación de los adolescentes y es ahí donde debemos apuntar, si aspiramos en el futuro tener una sociedad mejor. Es nuestra función ampliar sus intereses, tanto los culturales como los sociales porque los acerca a formas muy diferentes de ver el mundo, pero para ello debemos dar respuestas a las necesidades imperiosas existentes.

Being self-referential is something we cannot avoid.

I keep in mind that we can all fall into the self-referential and when I decided to write in this publication, an invitation that was formulated many times, I did an exercise in personal self-knowledge, we are never safe from falling into that type of self-referential positions, even more so when the profession of one is not exactly that of a writer nor does he pretend to be.

It is very common for us to learn from experience, specifically from mistakes; but this is nothing more than an addiction to self-reference, to our own schemes. That blessed falling twice with the same stone, shows a facet of our way of storing information related to the conformation of our self-concept.

Since the beginning of history, man has wanted to reproduce images through drawings, paintings, engravings and, as technologies advance, photography, cinema and everything we call audiovisual communication. It can be said that this fact responds to an innate need of man to leave a mark and to save memories, but what we see today as something normal, since we live in a society of images, was once an exceptional event.

More than one will wonder where all these reflections lead me. Very simple, is that despite the evolution of thought and the help that technology offers us, there are attitudes that lead to the present to the absurd or the inexplicable.

A part of the final monologue in the movie "Alone in the morning" said: "We must begin to be free. I also want to be free. I don't want to have to lie to myself so much. I know I have to do something ... maybe listen, listen more to people or do a radio program for adults, to talk about things today, because ... because we can't spend another forty years talking about forty years ... That The old record that you are going to listen to is the last of a melody that we will not hear anymore. I promise you that Ray Peterson, Raimundo Pérez, if he had been born in the empire, will never tell Laura that he loves her again, because Laura has thirty-five chestnuts, five children and is married to one from Arkansas and that must be faced . I am not a politician, nor a sociologist, but I think what we should do is give each other freedom, even if it is conditional freedom. Well come on, I think we can do it, I think we can. Although there were many technological changes, the same problems that arose in the exhibition and distribution and were discussed by my father more than sixty years ago, still exist today, such as the lack of screens for national cinema, the poor support to exhibit non-commercial material, the lack of adequate promotion for marketing abroad and that the film is not only subscribed to participation in a festival. A number of reasons make it inexplicable. And the absurd thing is that the same answers are received when faced with the same questions.

Now, it is the system or it is simply us, the adults, who do not intend to provide a solution because we feel very comfortable in the place we occupy.

Art, as part of culture, is one of the instruments that societies count on to design the future. Whether as creators or as spectators of artistic activities, art brings many good things to the formation of adolescents and that is where we must aim, if we aspire to have a better society in the future. It is our function to broaden their interests, both cultural and social because it brings them closer to very different ways of seeing the world, but for this we must respond to the imperative needs that exist.
