DEVASTACION DEL PATRIMONIO CULTURAL,UNA FORMA DE SOMETIMIENTO

 

Hacia fine de octubre subí en mi canal de Youtube el film LENIN EN OCTUBRE dirigido por Mijail Romm en 1937. La versión original de 1937 fue recompaginada en 1956. Su estreno se produjo en Buenos Aires el 20/9/45 bajo el título de “Hombres del pasado”, reestrenándose el 6/11/67 con el título original de “Lenin en Octubre”. La reflexión de un cinéfilo seguidor diciendo…” ya nadie se acuerda de Lenin…”fue el disparador que me hizo reflexionar sobre varios temas que va más allá de lo político partidario y está vinculado con el conocimiento y la memoria.

La Revolución de Octubre, significó la primera revolución socialista declarada del Siglo XX, con la participación de obreros, campesinos y soldados a través de los soviets. Se planteó, al final de la Primera Guerra Mundial, paz, pan y tierra para el pueblo. Igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer. Educación y cultura en sus propios idiomas para las diferentes naciones de la Rusia zarista. Probó que era posible un gobierno gestionado por campesinos, obreros y soldados.

Puede ser que, entre la vorágine cotidiana por subsistir, la sobre (des) información que tenemos y la desidia que nos causan muchos temas, nos vamos olvidando de los hechos y personajes que transformaron la historia de la humanidad.

Sería muy interesante que para ingresar a este nuevo periodo de “normalidad” y aprovechando la época estival, algunos ejerciten la lectura y le dediquen un poco del tiempo ocioso a leer obras como: “Los veraneantes”. Escrita en 1904 por Maximo Gorki, donde nos permite reflexionar sobre el verdadero sentido de nuestra existencia y cómo en busca de satisfacer nuestras apetencias egoístas nos sumergimos en un estado de angustia y apatía que nos aleja de nuestros congéneres y nos cierra la posibilidad de comprometernos y aportar en los cambios necesarios para construir sociedades más justas y equitativas.

Curiosamente estoy hablando de acontecimientos y obras que sucedieron el siglo pasado y que aun marcan nuestro presente. Todo esto gracias a la visión de futuro que tenían sus autores y a la preservación de las mismas.

A lo largo de la historia, nuestro cine fue desapareciendo por diversas causas o por una mezcla de factores fortuitos o intencionales. Censura, negligencia, ignorancia, mezquindad, egoísmo, incendios que incluyeron explosiones y víctimas fatales, inundaciones, robos, derrumbes y por haber sido tiradas a la basura como culminación de actos deplorables. Los remates han sido otra causa más, de la triste historia de nuestro patrimonio fílmico desaparecido. Ni hablar lo que se relaciona con los films en formato fotográfico o en papel.

Son muy pocos los países que se han preocupado y ocupado de preservar todo aquello que significa perder el trabajo y el conocimiento que han dejado plasmado nuestros antecesores en la distintas disciplinas artísticas y culturales. El hecho cierto es que estamos viviendo una etapa de seria devastación del patrimonio cultural en general, ya sea por destrucción en catástrofes naturales, la venta de piezas de colecciones y el tráfico ilícito de bienes culturales, entre otros.

 En Argentina, como en muchos países de América Latina, no hay políticas adecuadas a los estándares internacionales para la conservación y preservación de los archivos audiovisuales. Además, existe poca o nula capacitación del personal encargado de los archivos audiovisuales para la conservación, manipulación y uso de las colecciones.

La desidia causada por ignorancia o por fines económicos trae consecuencias nefastas a las generaciones venideras, o bien existe en muchos ese interés de la pérdida de identidad de los pueblos para poder masificarlos en la ignorancia y dominarlos con mayor facilidad.

DEVASTATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE, A FORM OF SUBMISSION

It would be very interesting if, in order to enter this new period of "normality" and taking advantage of the summer season, some exercise reading and dedicate a little of their idle time to reading works such as: "The vacationers". Written in 1904 by Maximo Gorki, where it allows us to reflect on the true meaning of our existence and how, in seeking to satisfy our selfish desires, we plunge into a state of anguish and apathy that distances us from our peers and closes us off the possibility of compromising and contribute to the changes necessary to build more just and equitable societies.

Curiously, I am talking about events and works that happened in the last century and that still mark our present. All this thanks to the vision of the future that its authors had and the preservation of them.

Throughout history, our cinema has been disappearing for various reasons or due to a mixture of fortuitous or intentional factors. Censorship, negligence, ignorance, pettiness, selfishness, fires that included explosions and fatalities, floods, robberies, landslides and for having been thrown away as a culmination of deplorable acts. The auctions have been yet another cause of the sad history of our disappeared film heritage. Not to mention what is related to films in photographic format or on paper.

Very few countries have been concerned and concerned with preserving everything that means losing work and the knowledge that our predecessors have expressed in the different artistic and cultural disciplines. The true fact is that we are living a stage of serious devastation of cultural heritage in general, whether due to destruction in natural disasters, the sale of pieces from collections and the illicit trafficking of cultural property, among others.

 In Argentina, as in many Latin American countries, there are no adequate policies to international standards for the conservation and preservation of audiovisual archives. In addition, there is little or no training for the personnel in charge of audiovisual archives for the conservation, manipulation and use of the collections.

Laziness caused by ignorance or economic purposes brings dire consequences to future generations, or else there is in many that interest in the loss of identity of peoples to be able to mass them in ignorance and dominate them more easily.
